Re: Rhodesian McClellans and the Greys Scouts

Pat, having been taken out of service my old Browning was destroyed as is the norm with ex British Police weaponry, cut lengthwise it was destroyed, and I would never had had it to hang on my wall otherwise. The Glock 19 was a comparable replacement, but as a traditionalist I could never come to ...

Re: Rhodesian McClellans and the Greys Scouts

I carried a Browning GP 35 as a back up for most of my service, and it never failed me. When we changed to Glock 19's I grimly held on to mine as long as I could before it was taken from me for use as a training weapon. Some years after I retired, eventually shot out, it was presented to me, cut in ...

Re: Rhodesian McClellans and the Greys Scouts

Enfield Envoy, we used those as training and sporting rifles, but the preferred service weapon was The Enfield Enforcer, my favorite rifle, you would have to go a long way to beat it. Basically the same rifle but with Parker Hale furniture. Double tapping is fine but if you have the time you will ...

Re: Transporting by rail

Re: Horses of the Bengal Lancers

In addition to my interest in horses, Military horses in general, and British Yeomanry in particular, I play with toy trains, some people explain it as modelling, I do it to play with my grandchildren.

However, I do like to model trains and scenery as opposed to just watching trains chase each ...

Re: What's up with that cap. . . a thread dedicated to unusual.

I have only just seen this thread, thus have some catching up to do.

I have seen a couple of referrences to 'hats'. As an early RSM of mine would shout, "Women wear hats, men wear caps, helmets, berets or bonnets (he was Highland Light Infantry, and in any case would not survive in todays PC world ...
