Good Morning, Would anyone have an account of the Day of a Trooper?
What I am looking for is something like this;
0600 Reveille
0630 Feed & water horses
0700 Groom and attend horses
0730 Troopers Breakfast
0900 Inspection
0930 Sword Training
1000 Formation Drill
This would be for garrison duty.
Thank you, Tim

Try a Google search for "daily log of garrison duties+US cavalry troopers". It's a long shot, but the United States Army and Navy Journal and Gazette of the regular and volunteer forces, Volume 21, 1883 - 1884, might be helpful. Many other digital copies of this newspaper format journal are on line and available for free download.
Unfortunately you will have to wade thru a lot of material not relevant for your subject. You might be able to use key word searches to reduce the mass of verbiage to something almost manageable.
Good luck and all the best,
Dan

We have an older thread on everyday cavalry tasks. I'll bump it up when I have a chance.

Also, FWIW, while I haven't read it for many years, I think Forty Miles A Day covers this for the Frontier era.
