In the link above is some amazing blundering errors related to the horse cavalry.
I have locked horns with some serious "historians" all over the internet and they all tell me that cavalry was all tanks and motorcycles by Pearl Harbour.
I have some paperwork from Constabulary HQ to Captain Robert Borg (CO of the 7766th Horse Troop) asking hime not refer to the Horse Troop as "cavalry" and that the "cavalry" was now called "armoured cavalry" and that didn't include horses.The letter is from 1948 and was sent by Gneral I.D White,Constabulary forces Commanding General. The 7766th as a Constabulary unit wore crossed sabres as branch insignia.

I have a bunch of these including one from 1948.
The 48 dated one is still from the Cavalry School even though Riley was rebadged as the Ground General School.
I guess they had a bunch of Cavalry School stationary left over.
