and the 129th also had W troop,this was the comprised of Mortar Platoon and Machine Gun Platoon

I was at a casino in Ms. today and while there I tried to thank as many Veterans as possible. I met one that was wearing a WWII cap and I thanked him for his service. He thanked me in return. He asked me what I was in and I told him. I then asked him. His reply kinda rocked me alittle. He said that he took training at Ft. Riley, Ks. He was in the 29th Cavalry Regiment. He was never in a line troop but as a blacksmith. He served in North Africa as a blacksmith with the pack trains. For a short time that I talked to him, I never thought about asking for his name. Sorry that I didn't.

Note sabres on the Lt,they officially were banned from using Cavalry in there title but as a Constabulary unit still wore sabres
