Re: Dragoon and Dragoon Guards

What was the difference between the British Dragoon regiments and the Dragoon Guard regiments? Hi! Semantics, mostly. The Dragoon Guards were the Guards . It means that they were senior cavalry regiments of the Army, had better pay, more prestige and a very prolonged leaves for officers (up to 6 mo...

Re: Unknown Pack Frame Sadlle

You might want to take a look at the threads on German and Swiss packsaddles on this site. They have a lot of photographs and you may be able to basically match these up with one of them. A Yugoslavian pack saddle would not have occurred to me, so that's an interesting possibility. It's worth notin...

Re: Unknown Pack Frame Sadlle

Hi and welcome! Is it rust or somebody painted it with black? Does this frame carry any marks or stamps? Looks like Tragsattel 23 which German Gebirgsjager used to pack their guns. https://forum.militaryhorse.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8240&start=0 or it might be Yugoslav pack saddle. http://ww...
