Interesting real photo postcard from Mexico. The subject is a well turned out young Mexican officer or cadet, sometime round 1923 or so – if the limited info about his uniform is any indicator.
The saddle is a Model 1912 US pattern, perhaps a converted enlisted variation – removing the cantle extension was a known modification to some of these. We cannot see the number of loops fastened to the back of the cantle, so we won’t know for sure. It may be a nice example of the rare officers variant.
