The Trooping of the Colour took place on Saturday last. A splendid spectacle as usual. This video was taken at the 2004 Trooping and shows the approach at the beginning of the parade. Good mounted views:

I always enjoy watching the Aussie charge. Though it is a little skimpy when one thinks of the thousands that made the real charge

Beersheba - was it thousands?
Wasn't it 800? Or was that just the 4th Lighthorse Brigade, not including the 5th and 7th Mounted Brigades?

Bob,
I remember reading (perhaps here) an excerpt from a soldiers diary, describing the big charge at Beersheba. He told it in a way that was very exciting. Perhaps Pat could find that thread. Anyway, he said thousands.

Wow, that's a flaming copyright violation if ever there was one. Both the You Tube poster of that, and You Tube, are begging to be dope slapped for violating The Light Horsemen's copyright to their movie.
I'm stunned that You Tube isn't in trouble yet for letting that up. But this helps explain why Google is presently looking down both barrels of the Federal Government's No No List for You Tube copyright violations.

I'll see if I can find that. I do remember that being posted here.

I rewatched 'The Lighthorsemen' again last night and the numbers mentioned were about 50,000 total forces but that the two regiments of mounted infantry who charged Beersheba totalled 800 with only 30 fatalities.
