field artillery in Gettysburg Cyclorama

The centerpiece of the new Gettysburg visitor's center is the restored cycloramic painting of the battle.
I visited there again last week and thought it would be interesting to take detailed photos of the field artillery in action. Keep in mind that the painting was completed only twenty years after the battle. Other than the obvious removal of much of the smoke and carnage it was considered quite accurate by veterans. The artist took great pains to reproduce the scene...even the European looking haystacks were the same as the German farmers were using at the time.
