(Australian) military saddle

Can you help with identifying this saddle--it has no markings on it.

From the acute angles of the side boards at the rear, and just the look of the rear brass (D and cantle spoon roller) I'd say it's an Indian copy. I have a couple which are very similar. Sideboards on most genuine UPs I've looked at sit much flatter.

They're quite common, and actually not bad saddles IF you can find a horse one of them fits. The first one I bought had been used on a donkey at one point (a hoop handle welded onto the front arch at some point had been sawn off).

I could be wrong about origin, but I don't think so :(

I would agree, I have seen a couple like that. One of them had a very weak front arch which had twisted quite badly and allowed the saddle to appear much wider than it should have been.
