Great photo Sam. I remember you gave us the history of it once, and I wonder if you could relate it to us again?

Aborigine too Sam, the AWM are compiling a history of aborigines in WW1 service. I am sure that only regts of the 5th ALH went to France ( with the Otago MR from NZ).

I am a researcher into Aboriginal military history. I was behind the establishment of Victoria's first Aboriginal war memorial in Warrnambool in 2010. I am writing on behalf of Damein Bell, a descendant of the Aboriginal Lovett family. He is very keen to know if your photo of the 4th Light Horseman is his relative. Your assistance in this regards would greatly be appreciated. Can you supply us the name of the Aboriginal soldier or any detail whatsoever relating to the photograph. Their is only one of the five Lovett brothers of WW I that we do not have a verified photograph of and this might be him!
Please email me directly at phbakker@bigpond.net.au
I have a group photo which has two Aboriginal soldiers in it and one I suspect might be the missing Lovett brother. Your photo identification could confirm this. Rest assured that we will acknowledge yourself and the military horse.org site with any reference to your photograph.
