This book is an essential tretise for the study of U.S. martial pistols, covering not only standard adopted firearms, but also those purchased in numbers for trial. A significant amount of historical information is presented on the quantity of the firearms purchased, as well as the dates they were acquired. Information is also presented to help indentify the firearms.
Gluckman does not go into, for the most part, the use of the weapons, and how they faired. Someone looking for this information will have to look elsewhere.
The book ends with the 1911A1.
