For those interested in the last cavalry charge in American history, here is the book for you. Written by a graduate of the Oklahoma Military Academy, at Claremore, this young officer was assigned to dury with the 26th Cavalry, Philippine Scouts. He takes the reader from OMA to the paeceful days of 1941 Luzon. His descriptions of the hectic, hell filled days of the Bataan campaign are great, as his participation in the charge. He later was briefly captured and then became a guerilla leader, openly going into Manila, in the guise of a German national. I strongly suggest that WWII cavalry buffs find a copy and read this fascinating book about a man who carried on his war in the spirit of his fellow troopers.
