I have to wonder how much shrapnel they had to pick out of hooves...

Somewhere at home I have some shrapnel that I picked up off of an impact range. It's unbelievably sharp.

It never occurred to me before what it must be like for horses hooves. When I have handled it in the past I wore gloves as its edges are like razors.
