I was in Chattanooga this past weekend. Monday I briefly toured the surrounding battlefields. I have attached pictures of Union Cavalry monuments in the Chickamauga Battlefield.

 Thank you Philip.
It is good to see these images, as visiting sites in person is not always possible

The National Cemetery in Chattanooga has an impressive memorial to the Andrew's Raiders who participated in the Great Locomotive Chase of the General by the Texas. The Ohio sponsored monument is surrounded by tombstones to the executed raiders. Surprisingly, both locomotives have survived and are on display separately. The bronze replica of the General on monument is very accurate.

Nicely done.

What is with the leaving of money on grave stones. I worked in a cemetery for four years and never saw that. Now, it is everywhere.

We've taken our horses to the Battlefield several times over the years as it's a great place to take a youngster get them away from home but in a relatively easy environment. There are two loops (one at 3+ miles and one just about 7) that are well kept. The Rangers keep the dirt bikes and mountain bikes and backpackers off the equine trails. There are a bunch of monuments you can only see from the equine trails. It's a really nice place to ride.

Thanks for the pictures!
