Hi I am contacting you on behalf of a local charity who have what we think is a UP saddle - pictures attached. I have more pictures if neccessary.

Could anyone let me know some more details about this saddle and possibly an approximate value?

thanks for your help

I'm not a UP expert (others here are) but I wonder if this is an actual UP, as opposed to one of the various civilian variants of the UP?

Thanks for the replies. Pictures may not be great!
The saddle seems in pretty good condition. The charity in question have over thirty saddles (only one like this) which my daughter is gradually getting out, cleaning and selling. All so far have been very good makes.

The U P's that I have seen and the one in my collection does not have the grain type leather or embossed type leather on the flaps. The grain leather looks to me like water buffalo hide that is used in India.. I think this may be a India made UP. This is only guess. If it is a India made saddle It would be less valuable to a collector. Tom
