I think you mentioned it before, but could you give us some more information on the use of hounds by the regiment. We wanted to give it a try as well in SWA, but SWASPES had no experience, they used tracker dogs on footpatrols. I had some experience with hounds but only from hunting in the ...

Pat,

we used the swivel variant of the UP as well in the beginning of the APU (and additionally the park rangers as well). The horses got sore backs and I was glad when we got issued decent Mac's. The sore backs stopped.

Pat,

the trailers we used in SWA were loaded from the back, unloaded by the front door as seen in the photo where I'm digging like a maniac. The advantage was that we could unload the horses much faster this way.
