Transportplatoon 1900 - 1936

[Regemortels]

I am looking for original photographs of members of a transport platoon from an British Infantry Battalion during the First World War.
I found such a picture in the book " First Hundred years Irish Guards " .
As I portray this regiment I would like additional photographs of infantry soldiers on horse back.
I have attached a picture of myself .
I tend to use pictures to get my impression historical correct.

We have a huge number of photographs up, and no doubt what you are looking for is depicted in various numbers of them. Feel free to ask a question on any thread about anything you find there.

My evidence is a picture of the Transportplatoon Irish Guards in 1936 wich I found in their regimental history
" The first hundred years " , page 80 .


As soon I get it into the right format I will add it .

This picture is my only reference at the moment.
Therefore I am looking for more additional pictures.

In the format which you sent it I am unable to enlarge it, but I am something of a technocretin. I cannot see much detail as it is, but I would be surprised if they carried swords. They also seem to be wearing blue caps, which I would expect in 1936. I shall look through my modest library, but I do not think that I would have anything to help.

Concerning the swords , in the text they mention that some are officers chargers , so I assume that these chargers carried
swords.
But you be be correst that the rest did'nt carry swords.

What is clear in the picture is that they wear 1903 Bandolier equipment.

Therefore I concluded that the platoon was equipped with 1903 Bandolier equipment in the first world war.
But that is the reason why I am looking for pictures to confirm this.

I have just also contact someone of the Irish Guards archives , I hope he could help me as well.

I am a Belgian citizen and live near Antwerp.
My main interest is the Irish Guards.

In the British Army all Officers horses are referred to as Chargers Leo, even a dull old nag which might previously have drawn a wagon, a matter of status, and Guards Officers would carry swords, mounted or dismounted. The guardsmen in your photo are definately wearing 03 bandoliers, but I am unable to see rifles in buckets, rifles may have been carried on Wagon Limbered GS.
