Reitvorschrift 1937 new edition

Postby Tom Muller » Thu Mar 05, 2009 3:32 am

For the German speaking out there, the Heeresdienstvorschrift - Reitvorschrift from 1937 has just come out in a new print edition. I haven't found it at Amazon yet.

Is this the riding manual from 1937, as a reprint?

I won an original of these on ebay once. Then it never arrived. The vendor claimed he'd delivered it to UPS, but UPS showed no record of it ever having been turned over to them.

The vendor did refund my money, however.

Interesting to see that they're offered in reprints. If anyone figures out the German publisher, let us know.

The book is available at Amazon Germany:

H.Dv.12: Die Deutsche Reiterklassik hat einen Namen-(aus dem Jahre 1937) by Isabella Sonntag (publisher), Wu-Wei Verlag

I hope this helps, I haven't received it yet.

According to Col. Hans von Heydebreck, "the German Riding Rules for the Army of the Deutsche Reich were based on Gustav Steinbrecht's principles." An excellent English translation edition of The Gymnasium of the Horse by Gustav Steinbrecht can be found on Amazon.
