From the book Heroes in Harness by Philip Weber and Stanley Jepsen.Of interest is the fact that all hores were being ridden. Also yet in a time of war there was still time to go to the Hunt.

I recall reading in Anglesey's book that there was quite a bit of fox hunting by English cavalry officers early in WWI, after they'd been sent to France, which I guess is sort of a similar example.

Von Boeselager in his book on his experiences in the German army notes some similar things as well, but in relationship to other types of hunting. For example, he noted that his brother was stationed in part of France following France's fall that had good hunting, while he was stationed in an area that did not.
