I'm getting gun shy about making fun of trends by giving ludicrous exaggerations. In 1967 I quipped " Wear a seat belt or get a ticket" In 1977 it was, "What's next "animal" rights? In 1987 "Soon they'll be coming down on fat people" Oy veh.

Now this, recalling a recent jest about boosting equestrian audiences in the US by putting contestants in bathing suits:
