“My Horse Warrior” is the story of Lord Mottistone’s horse in WWI. It is illustrated by the famous English equestrian artist Alfred Munnings. During the Great War he did a series of paintings of the Canadian cavalry. The cover painting of Lord Munnings (commander of the Canadian Cavalry) became quite famous as a war time version of a classic hunting portrait.
My copy of the book was a 1935 Christmas present from Major General Leon Kromer (Chief of Cavalry) to 1st Lt. John K Waters (Patton’s son-in-law)
