Here is another puzzling photo. I am sure that the "twist" in the picture is due to a wide angle lens. All the wagons are apparently hitched together. Two two axle wagons are at the rear. The picture is in poor condition with no id.

The men have leather lined leggins and the spoked wheel vehicles appear to be caissons.

Those are Limbers, not Caisons. It appears to be a pulling contest for a Arty Hitch. I have heard a couple of Horse Arty vets talk about "pulling" comps. between batteries as a sport and inter-regimental comp..

"Maybe" this is one of those, I wonder if the Limbers have a field load in them?
