Australian Military PacksaddleryIs there any?
Pat
Yes Pat there was such a thing. From General Pack Saddles to Pack Saddles designed for carrying machine guns (eg Vickers). Originals are not that easy to find and I only know of one source for a repo.

I'm surprised anyone makes a reproduction. Why is a reproduction made? Pat
The British pattern was used.
The re enactment group I am involved with are putting together a display of Light Horse manuoeuvres which invovles a pack horse carrying a Vickers (not a real one). That is my reason for the repo. We also have quite a few groups who like to have these items for various displays or personal reasons. As I stated before, originals are hard to get and we don't want to ruin an orignial but a repo can always be replaced and at much less cost.
In light of the recent thread on packsaddlery in Rhodesia, I thought I might bump this interesting topic up.
